The Butler Gallery of Contemporary Art, Kilkenny, Ireland

The National Craft Gallery
In 1999 the Crafts Council of Ireland relocated their headquarters to the castle yard the original home of Kilkenny Design. They subsequently established the National Craft Gallery in 2001. The crafts gallery now plays host to Ireland's best known crafts and craft works.

Kathleen Holohan studied art in the Fine Art Department, Waterford Regional College. She was born in Kilkenny and now lives and works there. Her work was featured on the Arts Show on R.T.E May 1990. She was awarded the best painting in Kilkenny Arts Week Fringe, 1990, 1991, 1992. She has had a one women show in Butler Gallery (Kilkenny Castle) and in the Arts Centre Garter Lane, Waterford. She has exhibited in Cleeres Theatre and Bar for the last 10 years of Kilkenny Arts Week.

Kathleen uses still-life, the figure and landscape as a source for her work. She is interested in the paint itself, colour, tone, shape, line and texture.
